Abstract

The research undertaken delved into the educational framework of the canton of Montes de Oca and others, focusing specifically on individuals who graduated from education courses in the year 2023. Our objective was to analyze in a thorough and comparative manner the financial education provided to two segments, closely linked to the financial challenges and opportunities of parallel periods. Both cohorts shared similarities and discrepancies in their historical context, technological development, and access to educational resources. Therefore, we sought to examine how these variables affected the perception, understanding and application of financial knowledge in decision making, both at the individual and societal levels. By identifying gaps and strengths in financial education, this study aspired to provide valuable information that could be used to improve educational programs and public policies aimed at the financial preparation of future generations.
