Keywords:
Economic – social factors, Costa Rica, InequalitiesAbstract
The present study analyzes the factors that contribute to inequality in Costa Rica, focusing on economic and social aspects. Using data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC), the World Bank and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), income distribution, access to education and regional differences are examined. The results indicate a growing gap between rich and poor, as well as significant disparities in educational and health opportunities. This study highlights the need for comprehensive public policies to address inequality and promote more equitable development, especially in light of recent economic and fiscal projections.
