Abstract

University libraries have ceased to be more than repositories of printed and digital information, it is of utmost importance to reinvent these spaces both in design and furniture to accommodate new students, with new ways of learning; the traditional models of libraries and the services they offer must change. The incorporation of new technologies at an accelerated pace makes the role of university libraries a fundamental piece in the biblio-academic linkage, the key reason is to provide and satisfy the information needs of the university community and the general public, providing tools that allow to reinforce the way of teaching and learning, allowing to ensure the added value to future professionals in the use of cutting-edge tools (Reinvent yourself or be forgotten).
