Abstract

In a business environment marked by technological disruption, uncertainty, and increasing sustainability demands, managerial decisión making faces new and complex challenges. This article introduces the 6D Strategy an original and integrated decisión making model designed for the realities of the year 2026. Based on an extensive theoretical and documentary review and an analytical approach, the need for a holistic framework is established, incorporating six key dimensions (6D): Definition of the problem and context, Data and analysis, Development of alternatives, Discernment of impacts, Informed decision, and Strategic deployment. The 6D model brings together rational, emotional, ethical, and sustainable perspectives, integrating digital transformation, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, and stakeholder engagement into the decisión making process. The results provide a critical analysis of each dimension and its applicability in Costa Rican and Latin American contexts. Theoretical and practical implications of the model are discussed in light of contemporary literature, and solid conclusions are offered in alignment with the stated objectives. Finally, specific recommendations are presented for academia, business management, and public policy, aimed at strengthening managerial decisión making capacity in a comprehensive, innovative, and sustainable manner.
