The Fifth Industrial Revolution (Industry 5.0) represents a paradigm shift in the way organizations conceptualize the relationship between technology, people, and sustainability. Unlike previous industrial approaches primarily focused on automation and efficiency, Industry 5.0 promotes a human-centered model that integrates technological innovation with environmental and social responsibility. This academic opinion article examines the sustainability of intelligent organizations from this new perspective, arguing that automation does not necessarily lead to the loss of humanization, but can instead serve as a means to enhance human talent and foster sustainable practices. Based on a critical analysis supported by specialized literature, the paper explores the strategic relationship between intelligent organizations and sustainability, the role of human talent, the impact of enabling technologies such as the Internet of Things and digital twins, and the transition from operational efficiency to climate neutrality. Finally, the article reflects on the challenges, risks, and managerial implications faced by organizational leadership in Industry 5.0, concluding that sustainability must be understood as a structural axis rather than an ancillary component of the organizational model.
