Abstract

The article shows an evaluation of the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and virtual learning environments (EVA) in teaching agricultural botany courses, under the virtual modality. The objective of the research is to evaluate the methodological strategy under the virtual modality in the agricultural botany course of the first semester of 2021, at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia, through the use of ICT and the virtual environment Moodle. This work aims to recommend methodological strategies to teach virtual botany courses, so that the development of the planned skills and competencies is achieved. The mixed approach was used, applying a Likert scale to the students and an interview with the teachers. One of the main results was to determine that there is a high level of student satisfaction in the methodological strategy used. It is concluded that it is possible to teach botany courses virtually, taking into account factors such as the number of tasks or activities to be carried out by students, virtual tutorials must be dynamic and promote critical thinking in students and that there is an adequate guide for teachers.
